Acacia sighed as she sat on the bed in her Mansion room, Kestrith asleep on the nest-like bed made for her. They'd only Hatched a month ago, and already Kestrith was getting pretty big. Compared to her size when she Hatched, at least. But, then again, a Gold did get bigger than the non-Queen colors. There was no telling which of the two Queens would be larger, though. Acacia sighed again, and pulled some paperwork toward her. She had been planning to apply for a sales position at the furniture store nearby, but with a baby dragon to tend to that may not happen. She laid back and looked at the ceiling. She'd told her mom that the Club members were planning a cram session and would be at each other's houses for a few days... Their parents would have to know eventually... They'd find out, if not from the children then when Thread first falls...
"Oh, this is too confusing!" she exclaimed, irritated. She sat up, throwing at the wall the book that sat next to her on the bed. It thumped against the wall, then landed on the floor with a dull thud. Kestrith jolted awake, growling in her half-sleep.
"Sorry Kestrith," Acacia said quietly. "I didn't mean to wake you. I'm just... Trying to figure things out. We'll need to tell our parents eventually, but they'd never believe us if we just told them... And they'd freak out if they saw real dragons... Oh, there's no middle ground..."
But 'Cia, won't Threadfall be enough to convince them that dragons are good for Earth? asked the young Gold.
"If only it were that easy..." Acacia sighed. "You will be long grown by that time, and perhaps you will have already Risen to Fly, and maybe even laid a Clutch. The world will need to know before then, so we can get more Candidates to Stand for the Hatchings... Oh, there's so much to think about... So much to do... And yet, the world isn't ready to know that dragons do exist..."
