Sizes indicate fully mature dragons after several generations. The first Dragons of Earth are much like the first Dragons of Pern. The first generation is small, with each subsequent generation being larger than the last until they reach their fully intended size. We are using the meters scale, for a very well worded reason as to why, please refer to the size chart made by KaiserFlames on Deviantart.
Garnet Dragons
F-F | 43-48 Meters
Garnets are the Earth equivalent to Gold dragons.
Garnets are the unchallenged Queens of the dragon word. No lesser dragon would dare to go against a Garnet's command once given, though another Garnet or Gold may question or even downright ignore her directions. As a general rule Garnet dragons tend to be very proud creatures, as any irrefutable queen should. Their scales glimmer and shine like the light of the setting waterbound sun, and range from pale red colors (though not quite pink) all the way to the deepest crimson, and their hides come in hues from the white-gold of the high noon sun all the way to the deep orange-gold of the sun's last light as it dips under the horizon. Garnets have sometimes even been described as appearing as if their entire being has a bright glow, like if you were to stare into the sun with special glasses, most commonly when Rising to mate.
Garnet dragons only Impress to females and don't seem to have a set "type" of girl they like to Impress, so long as they have the capability to take on a leadership role. Girls with too-intense personalities seem to deter them, whether they be overly shy or overly pushy. Garnets will not allow another Garnet to live in her Weyr, save for her children, who must leave within a week of their first Flight before the reigning Garnet begins to get antsy.
Gold Dragons
F-F | 40-45 Meters
Gold dragons are just as proud, if not more than Garnets, though not all of them show it in the way of snobbishness. Most are not too happy about being displaced as the sole top dogs of the dragon world, but there are those who aren't too worried about it. While their colors are not as varied as some other dragons, they are more prone to mutations, so very few golds ever look completely alike, much to their pleasure in their never ending quests to stand out from the crowd. Their scales are often a few shades lighter than their hide, with darker 'flawed' streaks and blotches occasionally appearing on hide and scale alike.
Gold dragons tend to Impress to females with bold personalities, though not always that of a clear-cut leader. The ability to make sound decisions is often more important to them than just getting people to pay attention. Golds are willing to tolerate up to two other queens in their weyr.
Onyx Dragons
M-E | 39-44 Meters
Onyxs are the Earth equivalent of a Bronze
Onyx dragons are not very picky creatures, and as such don't restrict themselves to gender like a Bronze would. Onyx dragons are the man and they know it. They are very driven dragons: they want things done by when they say and they don't care how it gets done, so long as it's done right and on time. That being said, by the time an Onyx dragon matures he has usually set a goal for himself and it might not always be the leader of the Weyr. Onyx dragon hides are dark in color, anywhere from jet black to smokey gray, their scales black with traces of metallic silver, gold, and brown in varying amounts from dragon to dragon.
Onyx dragons, much like their business preferences, don't seem to care who they Impress to. Male, female, straight, or gay. So long as they feel like they have goals similar to their own and the will to achieve them they'll take it.
Bronze Dragons
M-M | 37-42 Meters
Bronze dragons are often referred to as the Pernese Kings as they are often the counterpart to Golds. Only a queen may downright challenge a Bronze's command, though Onyx dragons may resist or ignore it, and lesser colors have been known to occasionally create loopholes in a Bronze's instruction should they feel it too extreme. With the development in scales, Bronze dragons have come to resemble the metal for which they are named even more spectacularly. Their scales usually take on a shining appearance, like well polished metal, and colored anywhere from a brownish-yellow color down to a deep copper. Their hide color is often multi-hued, a mixture of browns, coppers, and sometimes dark golds, like a painter made them textured by quickly running their finger through a brush's bristles and sending miniscule drops of color onto their skins. On the inside Bronze dragons tend to be beasts of good intentions, though they aren't immune to the occasional underhanded trick if they deem it necessary for the greater good.
Bronze dragons seem to pick out males with strong personalities, though not always developed. They look for the mind first, and the body last. A body can always be worked on, but a mind? In their eyes a mind can never change.
Agate Dragons
E-E | 32-37 Meters
Agate dragons are Earth's equivalent to Brown
If Onyx dragons are the newest Kings to the dragon world then Agate Dragons are their Brown. Level-headed and willing to please, though not always patient, they are not unknown to be leaders within the dragon ranks. They work hard and play little, and detest laziness. They are brilliant at detail work, though coming up with the base part of the plan isn't necessarily their strong suit. They tend to choose a loyalty to one dragon of and listen to them above any other (save for the Weyrleading dragon pair), commonly a dragon off opposite gender and whom they will (Once they free themselves from denial) will attempt to make their Weyrmate. Their colors are the most varied of all the dragons. Their hides tend to be any shade of brown in its base, from sandy tan down to a deep red-brown. Their hide often has hints of grays or creams and their scales are shiny, though not metallic, and are struck through with blue-grays, creams, and light browns of varying amounts from dragon to dragon.
Agate dragons have a preference for people with lazier personalities, not to say they aren't active, more so in the way where they are not a very argumentative person. The dragon they usually form a loyalty to usually has some significance to their rider for one reason or another.
Brown Dragons
M-M (Rare F) | 30-35 Meters
Brown dragons are the workhorse of the Weyr, though they are not above taking extra time to sun on a nice rock or take an extra long bath. They are reliable dragons, tending to form a routine and have particular preferences. They enjoy collecting trinkets, usually about a specific subject though it varies from dragon to dragon. It takes a lot to rattle a Brown dragon and they tend to go with the flow of things. Their colors are varied, though generally very flat. Their scales can be lighter or darker than their hide color, both ranging from a pale, dusty brown to a deep chocolate.
Brown dragons have a great preference for male Riders, though a female is not unheard of being chosen by a Brown. They prefer riders with a sense of duty, if not always the most driven individual.
Chalcedony Dragon
E-E | 29- 34 Meters
Earth equivalent to Blues and Greens
Chalcedony dragons are the wild card of Dragon life. They don't seem to have any one personality, the only thing you can count on is that they are easily distracted, quick to get jealous, and protective of their Rider. With the attention span of a gnat about the only time they can be relied on is in times of crisis. That seems to be the only way that a Chalcedony can get themselves together. Their scales are often a paled color, anywhere from sky blue to lavender and edged in light gray, their hide a few shades darker.
Chalcedony dragons are either female or male, and don't seem to have a preference in personality. They will, however, often develop many personality traits meant to level out their Rider's flaws, though it doesn't always work out as they've planned.
Blue Dragons
M-E | 26-31 Meters
Blue dragons can often be described as dog-like in their behavior. They are loyal and outgoing and unafraid to make friends with anyone. They have a natural feel for the human mind and as such are very good at picking out Candidates. They come in a wide range of blues, from an almost white all the way to a deep midnight. Their scales and hide can be any combination of lighter and darker, though rarely have shifts in hue.
Blue dragons are male Impress to either gender, often to outgoing and optimistic candidates.
Green Dragons
F-E | 20-25 Meters
Green dragons are the busy bees of the Weyr. Always doing something, they can't seem to sit still for long. Flirtatious, though not always outgoing, often times they are vain or seem uncaring of others feelings. In reality they just aren't the greatest at empathy (That's what blues are for, after all) and can have a hard time thinking outside the box or seeing the bigger picture. Their scales are usually either very light in color, from mint green to yellow-green, or very dark, from emerald green to very dark and almost appearing black. Their hides can be anywhere from mint green to a deep forest green, even straying into yellow, blue, or brown tinged colors.
Green dragons are female and Impress to either gender. They tend towards strong willed girls and more withdrawn males.
