Skyler adjusted the laptop's position, making sure it had a good picture, especially since the eggs were starting to break apart. The excitement was getting to Skyler, and the feeling of anticipation filling the room was almost cloying in a way. He grinned like a fool as he watched the bronzish colored dragon finally break free. He grinned like a fool, his eyes locked on the egg he was draw to the most, the one marked "Guard the Peace" It wasn't cracking yet, but he was confident.

As the bronzish dragonet inspected the candidates, the Liberty is Duty egg shattered leaving a bewildered, mint-green dragonet in its wake. Upon it were patchy scales similar to its sibling, though they were a much deeper forest green color. It chirruped and turned its head from side to side, looking at the field of twitching eggs around it in a very bird-like manner. Getting to its feet it brushed up against the unmoving Anywhere at Any Time egg, knocking it over and splitting it in half. As it came closer into the view of the candidates it was clear that something was different with the headknobs on the little green dragon, and what seemed to be a smaller second set positioned below them. They all tapered to what appeared to be points and seemed a little short compared to the bronze's.
In the remnants of Anywhere at Any Time egg, a dark colored dragonet lay there in the goo for a moment, just long enough that one might begin to wonder if it was alive before yawning and stretching, as if nothing spectacular was happening. It had an ochre-brown hide with more chocolatey scale patches adorning it and it was very clear from the beginning that something was very different about this dragonet. The more obvious was that there was not one, but two rows of ridges going down its back. As it slowly got to its feet and turned its head towards the candidates there were also noticeable bumps lining the rear of its cheeks that seemed more prominent than just scales.
The Liberty is Duty was the first dragonet to reach the candidates, almost deliberately touching each candidate in one way or another. In usual clumsy dragonet fashion feet were stepped on and awkward wings and mindless tail were merciless. Suddenly all three of the dragonets on the sands paused to look at the second (shut up, I've got this I swear >.>) largest of the eggs, the one labeled Often Tested, Never Bested as it gave a resounding crack, an angry creel-shriek coming from within. A foot burst from one of the larger cracks, it was decidedly orange in color with a small patch of brilliant red scales, and the rest of the dragonet was quick to follow, revealing a dragonet that looked much the same as the first leg. Eyes whirring, it had almost a haughty air about it, it's single set of headknobs resembling the green-colored dragonet's, though they seemed to twist slightly.
Jessie could hardly do anything but watch in awe as each dragonet spilled its way onto the floor. She held her breath as the brownish dragonet lay unmoving in its own egg-goo, a sense of heartbreak beginning to enter her mind before it finally yawned and stretched and she had to hold back a giggle. That one had to actually be a brown. A little odd looking, but there was no way it could be anything else. The first "bronze" dragonet had seemed rather normal, aside from the scales, but the dragonets just seemed to be getting weirder and weirder and she was beginning to worry that maybe they would be as different from Pernese dragons as they looked. Were they even Impressable?
As if to answer her question the Liberty is Duty baby gave an excited creel and barreled over a few candidates as she lost her footing on the wooden floor and toppled to the ground at Elizabeth's feet, eyes whirring rainbow as she stared adoringly up at the first Dragonrider of Earth. Not to be outdone, the By Valor and Arms dragonet marched decidedly towards the one whose mind called out to it's own. Whirring eyes locked onto it's Mine he deftly avoided any of the candidates the green may have knocked to the ground and came to a stop before Darius, eyes shifting to a rainbow spectrum of Impression as he gave a contented rumble.

Darius was watching intently, continuing to look over the eggs as well as the dragonet thereon. First Hatched Bronze. Luck was with them, hopefully. As the other eggs began breaking and spilling their contents out, his eyes widened in surprise. Green, but she had... Two sets of headknobs, and they looked more like horns...
The Brown dragonet was next, and his lazy actions had Darius worried, until he finally bothered to move, causing the young man's lips to twitch with amusement. Silly Brownling, he thought, his eyes sparkling. They then shifted as the egg he'd been spending so much time around started caving, revealing the... Orange? Dragonet. He blinked, startled by the bright burst of color, as well as the air about the little one. "Strange," he murmured softly, then turned his head swiftly as Ellie became the first Dragonrider ever to grace Earth. He could tell by the eyes.
Ugh... clumsy little green. Was he going crazy? Or was that just a voice? It didnt sound like any of his fellow candidates. Well, I can't vouch for your sanity, but I do know that you are Orlynth's, D'rius. the voice clearly came from the approaching... Bronze? Well of course I'm a Bronze. What did you think I was? Darius-D'rius now-blinked, staring down at the Bronze. HIS Bronze.... His Bonded... Orlynth cocked his head and blinked slowly, in a purposely exaggerated motion, and D'rius realized he was being mimicked. Food Mine? I'm hungry, was the next comment from the little male, not an unexpected request, and D'rius nodded, stepping back to kneel over by the table where his bucket of chicken was, beginning to slice off pieces and give them to him, still glancing over now and again to watch the Hatching continue.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outside, the odd shriek was heard by the shadow, and eyes narrowed as it rose and moved to the door, thrusting it open as the young woman-now revealed by the light-stalked into the Egg Room...
And promptly froze as she saw the Hatchlings, her jaw going slack in stunned surprise. The members all wore white robes, the trditional garb, and it seemed two of them had already been claimed by what was happening here, one male to what HAD to be a Bronze dragon and one to what appeared to be a Green? Her confusion was complete as she just stared at the eggs, the Hatchlings, still standing in the doorway, where only maybe one or two of the Candidates and ALL of the Hatchlings could see her. This was Arielle, 21 years old and a teacher at Sterling Woods Elementary...

Cairrean watched as the dragons began to Hatch, moving quickly to avoid the Green one who knocked quite a few over in a frenzied attempt to get to it's Mine. One of the girls. Elizabeth, maybe? Cairrean didn't quite know all the names just yet. She looked at the orange dragon with red scales, and a thought came to her mind. It looked like... Like...
"Ruby..." she muttered softly. Yes. The scales on that one, so obviously a proud little thing, reminded the girl of a ruby. The build seemed to be slightly more feminine than the Bronze that had hatched first, but maybe she was simply over-thinking things. She sighed, attempting to slow her racing heart. This was incredible.
Acacia looked over at the other girl, one of the newest Club members. Ruby. That did match the color of the scales, for sure. It seemed smaller than a normal Gold did in the books... Then again, this was nothing like the books. Nothing in the books could be taken at face value any more. Besides the fact that dragons liked raw meat. She watched the first dragon to Hatch, which definitely looked male, though a bit off-color if she was honest.
Aster threw her arm in front of the woman who entered. Her glare was cold. This stranger had interrupted the Hatching. Who knew how the dragons would react. "Jessie," she called, getting the Club founder's attention. She motioned toward the woman with her head, eyes still narrow. Sure, she was just watching this time, but her sister was with the Hatchlings. If this woman upset the Hatchlings enough that Acacia was hurt...

Focused on the Hatching and giving the two Impressed dragons a once over to see if there seemed to be anything wrong, not just different, about them. But nothing seemed amiss as of yet. Her name from off behind her broke the concentration and she glanced towards the door and froze when she saw a strange person standing there. She hurried over, giving the woman a once over. She was closer to their age it seemed, and didn't seem horrified by the sight before her, more astonished than anything. She nodded to Aster and narrowed her eyes at Arielle, unsure of just how to handle the situation before shrugging.
"She's seen it all now." she sighed before speaking to Arielle "Don't you dare go running off, and stay out of the way." She whisked away back to her own place, trusting Aster to keep an eye on her and refocusing back on the event before her, hoping she didn't miss much and also hoping the new face wouldn't disrupt anything.
Out among the clutch the Anywhere at Any Time dragonet was ambling its way towards the candidates, not seeming to be in any hurry to get anywhere, and the Often Tested, Never Bested dragonet sat down and curled its tail about itself and seemed to survey the happenings before it. Its eyes whirred slowly, and it too didn't seem too rushed to go anywhere.
As the two took their time, 3 more eggs hatched within seconds of one another. First was the Semper Fidelis egg, that had already given a hint of the dragonet within. Finally giving in and falling apart, it left behind a confused looking pale red-brown dragonet, duller scales glinting reddish purple and edged in a soft gray tone. It whipped its tail back and forth then stalked forward, low to the ground like a hunter, towards the assembled candidates. Not far away the Honor, Valor, Victory egg fell apart to reveal a dark green dragonet with vibrant emerald green scales. It was slightly smaller than the other green dragon, but seemed otherwise normal like the Bronze dragonet. Without hesitation it headed for the candidates, only one thing on its mind. Third was the Defending the Homeland egg, spilling forth from it. It's hide was a bronze color with faded patches of green and gold about it and its chest had the large belly-scales usually associated with the dragons of western myths. It too, carried itself with confidence and glanced back at the orange dragonet, as if for approval, before making its own way to the candidates.
It didn't take the Defending the Homeland dragonet long to make it's choice, much like the similarly colored Orlynth it knew just where it wanted to be. It gracefully avoided all of its siblings before walking around and standing beside Skyler like a noble steed before nudging him affectionately with whirring rainbow eyes.
Not long behind its three siblings the Not for Self, But for All dragonet escaped from a large hole in its own egg. It was a muddy brown color, though most of its joints almost seemed as if the color had worn away, leaving behind a cream-gray coloration, its scales sandy tan highlighted in sky blue. Unlike those before it there was a wavering in its steps, as if unsure of the placement of each one, faceted eyes whirring hungry red and uncertain yellow.

D'rius followed Jessie's track off to the side, and blue eyes narrowed as they fell on the intruder. He just watched for a moment, then looked back to Orlynth as the Bronze nudged his hand insistently, rumbling deep in his throat. He was still hungry and they were two thirds of the way through the chicken D'rius had obtained. But there was still chicken, so he continued to feed him, recalling the lessons learned from the books and watching his Bonded's belly closely.
Arielle didn't even look at Aster, too intent on the dragonets, but when Jessie spoke, she did glance at her, eyes intense. "I'm not going anywhere," she said quietly. "But I assure you, this will not be known through me." She then watched as the girl returned to the Hatching, looking to the one at her side curiously before proceeding to ignore her and watch the Hatching, enthralled by what she was seeing. Bronze, Brown, Green... No Blue, but there was an oddly hued Orange dragonet as well, just watching, who almost seemed to presiding over it all. Was that their Queen dragonling?

Skyler let a out a little sigh as the green dragonet found hers and formed the first dragonrider pair. He glanced back at the screen, smiling as he saw they had the perfect shot of the look on the girls face as she made the Impression. He silently cheered as more eggs broke, and the Bronze looking one Impressed Darius.
His gaze wasn't on Defending the Homeland, so he missed the Hatching of the dragon. It was hard to miss the reddish colored dragon making a bee-line for him though. He closed his eyes and crossed his fingers, hoping. A grin broke out as he felt an unfamiliar voice talking in his head.
Ah, yes, S'ler, there you are. A very gathered, confident voice called out. I've no idea what you're doing all the way over here when your Quinnervth is right here. the large bronzey dragonet walked a semi-circle about Skyler before pausing beside him and nudging him softly with his nose. Now, let us join my fellow bronze Orlynth in a good meal. My stomach may just be eating itself.
Unable to resist, Skyler, well S'ler now, turned his grin on Jessie. " He says his name is Quinnervth!" he proclaimed, acting like someone who just Impressed in the books. Taking one more look at his computer, he nods to himself and takes his bonded to the food area. " I hope you don't mind if I give you a nickname... I'd like to call you just Quinn if that's alright."
But my name is Quinnervth, not Quinn... He protested, tilting his head in confusion.
"Right, I know that. But people like to give nicknames to those they love, see. Its to show affection." Skyler explained, giving the Bronze a smile. " I call you Quinn because I love you." he added, starting to give the dragonet some food.
Oh...Well, I guess that is alright then.the dragon responded, eating surprisingly daintily, even though he must be starving.
-Zoey-
Zoey's phone buzzed on her nightstand, and she sighed, her eyes firmly closed. " I dun wanna get up..." she muttered to no one, and rolled over onto her side. She reached over and felt around to find her glasses, then put them on. Her phone vibrated again. "Alright, alright, I'm checking you." she told the phone irritably. She unlocked the screen and sighed as her text messages showed 4 new ones. She scrolled through them, not really registering what they all said, though she did notice that one was from Jessie, and all it said 'NOW'. She stared at her phone, dumbfounded for a moment as she tried to figure out what the message could mean. Her copy of Dragonflight was sitting on her nightstand too, and when her eyes fell on it, she suddening understood.
She let out a high pitched "Squeeeee!" and bounced around the room for a minute, before it hit her that the message had been sent quite some time ago. And she was late. Her eyes widened in alarm and she rushed to get dressed, slipping into a Jacob Black T-shirt, jeans, and her trusty black crocs. Her hair was brushed quickly, and pulled up to hang through the back of her Tinkerbell hat, but she didn't bother with an actual ponytail holder. She pocketed her phone and grabbed her Rarity plushie, bringing it with her for luck. She put her sunglasses on and grabbed her keys, finally ready to leave.
She made it to the mansion in record time, driving a smidge faster than she really should have, but she didn't want to risk HER dragon dying simply because she was a little late. She didn't bother to hide her car and walk, because of her hurry, so she pulled right up to the mansion. She ran inside, and almost ran into the woman standing in the doorway. "Um, Sorry..." she muttered, not really paying attention enough attention to realize she wasn't one of the Club members. Zoey let out a little shriek of glee as she laid eyes on the Hatchlings for the first time. "Oh wow... those are so AWESOME!" she cried, jumping up and down in her excitement. Three of them had even already Impressed, a green looking one and two bronze looking ones. A darker green, and three brownish looking ones were still on the search for their candidates it seemed, and the beauty... that orange-red darling. She.. for it HAD to be a 'she'.. just sat there, waiting patiently. Zoey held Rarity tight against her chest as she watched the clutch with wide eyes.

Gavin watched the Bronze hatchling look at the candidates as if he was somehow measuring them, but against what standard would remain a mystery. The Liberty is Duty egg shattered, leaving a Green hatchling behind. For a moment, the Green paused, looking around at the twitching eggs that held her siblings. This did not distract her for long though, and she quickly moved towards the candidates. While she scrambled to her feet, the Green had brushed against the Anywhere at Any Time egg, which fell over and split to reveal a Brown which lay unmoving for a long moment. Gavin felt his heart sink into his shoes as he looked at the Brown, only to have it leap again when he yawned and stretched. Gavin assumed that the dragonets were the appropriate genders for their colors, though that might not necessarily be true with the mutations he was seeing. The Green had two pairs of headknobs and both pairs were pointed as well as smaller than the Bronzes. Even stranger was the Brown, who not only had two sets of ridges rather than one, but odd bumps at the rear of his cheeks.
The Liberty is Duty Green wandered through the gathered Candidates, touching what seemed like all of them somehow. Gavin got a foot stepped on with sharp dragonet claws, had a wing scrape across his arm and almost got the wind knocked out of him by the swish of her tail. The Often Tested, Never Bested egg cracked and all three dragonets turned to watch it. A foot smashed through one of the larger cracks, a most peculiar foot. Instead of being any of the traditional dragon colors, it was orange. The red scales just made the whole thing even odder. The mutation dragon quickly finished hatching and as if to make it even odder, the dragonet's headknobs tapered like the Green's, though it had but a single set and they looked slightly twisted.
Gavin was both amazed and baffled. How had those strange mutations happened and would they affect the entire clutch? He hoped if the clutch had any problems, these problems would be dead eggs, not a betweening because of the limited selection of possible riders. Where were the rest of them anyway? There should have been at least a few more candidates arriving. The Liberty is Duty Green creeled and ran across the floor, crashing into a few candidates as she ran to Ellie, her eyes swirling with rainbows. In a much more dignified fashion, the By Valor and Arms Bronze walked over to Darius and Impressed. Gavin felt a surge of jealousy rise in him and he fought it back down, trying to focus on welcoming thoughts and ignore the trickles of fear and doubt crossing his mind. Would he even Impress? If he didn't, what would happen to the baby that didn't choose him?
The Anywhere at Any Time Brown wandered through the eggs toward the Candidates, seemingly unconcerned with Impression. That odd dragonet from the Often Tested, Never Bested egg didn't look as if it was interested in the humans yet either, sitting down and just watching. It took Jessie speaking for him to notice the stranger, an adult, but there was nothing they could do now. He had mentally decided to call the orange dragonet a Carnelian until the Club decided what to call it when three more eggs all hatched in rapid succession.
Semper Fidelis fell apart first, revealing another mutation, or at least Gavin guessed it was a mutation. It seemed too red to be a brown, despite its pale red-brown hide; the grey-edged purple-red scales made sure of that to him. He didn't think it could be the same color as the orange dragonet. It was likely another new color they would need to name, unless the dragonets knew their own colors. Gavin categorized it as a Garnet, though he was dissatisfied with that name. As Semper Fidelis stalked toward the Candidates and the intruder, Honor, Valor, Victory hatched, producing another Green. This Green headed purposefully towards the humans too. Last of the three was Defending the Homeland which released another Bronze. There was little indecision with this Bronze either; he headed right to Skyler and Impressed. That still left quite a few dragonets looking for their riders and soon another joined them. This time it was the Not for Self, But for All dragonet that emerged. It seemed to be another mutation, this one with brown and grey hide and tan and blue scales. Gavin tried not to judge the new dragon on looks, but it really wasn't the prettiest of the hatchlings. That left only First Among Equals, Guard the Peace, In All Things Prepared, and By Arms and By Courage unhatched.

Acacia watched as the Green Impressed to Elizabeth. So many Bronze dragons, even if their color was a bit off. She wondered for a moment if the Hatchlings would become their colors as the scales grew. That orange one, it must be female, had scales almost blood red. And those strangely colored scales of the newest Hatchling... Would they really be alright with all these new colors? What if they couldn't find anything close enough to Firestone...? That was another issue that hadn't been brought up, but Acacia quickly shook her head. Welcoming thoughts... Oh, she couldn't wait to find out which one would be hers, which dragon would call her Mine. Regardless of what it looked like, she knew she'd love it. That was how it'd always gone in the books, after all. No matter how bad the bond was between dragon and rider, they still loved each other.
Cairrean focused on the Anywhere at Any Time Hatchling, absolutely loving the chocolate-brown of its scales. She smiled softly. That was the one she'd felt the wave of contentment from when she touched it. She was surprisingly convinced that it was her dragon; it was the only egg that had responded to her, after all. She felt her heart swell when it finally moved. There was no way this could be anything but male, but it was harder to tell when she had so little real experience with dragons. She watched as he moved through the Candidates, holding her breath as he neared her. Would this one be hers? Oh, she hoped so. The fact that they were Hatching on Earth was a dream come true, Impression would make it perfect.

Jessie was distracted again from the Hatching as Zoey came skidding into the Egg Room, only then realizing that she had been missing thus far. There had been so much going on she hadn't even thought to do a headcount. Doing so now she didn't find much to be out of place. She smiled softly at those dragonets that had Impressed. Not a bad start if she did say so herself. Two bronzes was not a bad start at all. She looked back to take another survey of the wandering dragonets. She almost felt like they needed an announcer for a play-by-play to keep up.
The Anywhere at Any Time dragonet had finally made it to the candidates and was shuffling about them like you would if you could have swore you put something there, but it wasn't. Still in the littered remnants of its shell was the Often Tested, Never Bested dragonet who had begun to sweep away the fragments with its tail. The Not for Self, but for All hatchling was now wandering amongst the candidates, trying its hardest not to hurt anyone, but having limited success.
The Semper Fidelis hatchling finally seemed to have found what they were looking for. The it switched almost flawlessly from hunter-mode to playful kitten mode without warning, bounding playfully up to Zoey with rainbow eyes, and unable to catch its balance toppled right into her.
Out on the floor there were more dragonets than eggs, and the numbers shifted again as the By Arms and Courage egg gave way to spill out what could only be a blue. It's hide was the deep blue of the ocean depths, and its scales the charming blue of a Caribbean retreat. As opposed to plain ridges on its back, it was instead more like that of the brown dragonet with the double row, but a wing-membrane-like skin spread between them.
Guard the Peace also gave up the fight, spilling out the darkest colored dragonet yet. It had a dark, smokey gray hide with even darker scales, that upon closer inspection, were webbed with streaks of silver and brown. Aside from color, however, it was another dragonet that didn't seem to carry any odd mutations.
No sooner had the blue and black colored babies familiarized themselves with the strange sensation of sight did the little brown Anywhere at Any Time dragonet gave a rumble of approval, removing itself from the line of candidates and waddling over to Arielle. It plunked down contentedly at her feet before creeling pitifully, like a puppy wanting to be picked up, at her, eyes shifting into the rainbow of Impression.

D'rius was continuing to watch the hatching, now with a sleeping dragon head in his lap. Orlynth had finally gotten full-or rather, D'rius had told him no more since neither of them needed to be up all night with belly pains-and settled down, and the young man was lightly stroking his head ridges as he watched the others come forth from their eggs. He made a mental note to grab the video from Skyler, no S'ler now, he realized as he saw the other male with what appeared to be a second Bronze, so he could write down who had come from which egg and who they'd Impressed to. The appearance of two more dragonets, one obviously Blue and one... Black? had him cocking his head. And then, the oddest thing he'd seen so far. The little Brown from the Anywhere At Any Time egg went to the intruder and flopped down at her feet, his eyes going rainbow. That left D'rius wondering what would have happened if she HADN'T come, or if they had sent her away. They would have lost that Brown...
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Arielle was absolutely entranced by the little ones, by watching their movements, their odd clumsiness. Like the candidates, she recognized the oddities appearing on them, and a frown touched her lips, a faintly concerned light entering her eyes. Would they be alright, these strange little ones? So far, their seeming mutations didn't seem to be hindering them at all, and the Orange dragonet was a testament that although its color was off, it was perfectly fine and healthy. Then the little black colored one appeared, along with a Blue with what appeared to be webbing on it, and she blinked several times, then shrugged. They all seemed fine...
Mmph. I know you're around here somewhere Mine... a contemplative voice drifted into Arielle's head. It seemed slightly confused, slightly frustrated, but mostly calm and unwavering. Where do you insist on- Oh! What are you doing all the way back there? Silly place for you. Everyone else is all up here. The grumbling grew louder as the Brown approached, his feelings seeping further into her mind as his eyes shifted more fully rainbow. You let your Duluth wander about that long? We'll shape you up yet, ArielleMine. But for now, he sprawled out at her feet, content with staying there, I'm hungry.
She started badly, rocking back on her heels, gaping in stunned surprise. "Wait, wha-" she said, looking helplessly towards the Candidates and new Weyrlings. "There must be some mistake... I'm not a Candidate," she added, even as she kneeled to touch Duluth's head gently, and the Brown shook it. No mistake. You are Mine, and I am Your's and I am HUNGRY. "Alright, alright..." She didn't have any food. What was she supposed to give him? she thought, starting to panic. The first BronzeWeyrling came to her rescue, motioning her to come over where he and the other two, now three, were. Standing, she convinced her dragonet to get to his feet and went over, then went back down to her knee as the young man tugged at a bucket nearby. "We have plenty," he assured her. "Get him fed." She nodded and did as instructed, reminding herself not to let him overeat. That would be VERY bad, for both of them.

Zoey watched, still holding on to her Rarity plushie like it was life or death as most of the eggs were Hatched and the dragonets began looking for their bonded. Her eyes fell on one of the brownish ones, though as she looked at it, she thought that the dragon was more red than brown. It was hard to miss it though as it suddenly angled right to her.
I found you, Zoey! the pale red-brown dragonet that had been stalking amongst the candidates could be the only source as she bounded up to Zoey, whirring rainbow eyes full of excitement. Your Winnath found- the statement was cut short as the little dragon misjudged the distance and skidded into her new Bonded, knocking Zoey to the floor. She whimpered as the sharp claws scored her flesh, leaving a trail of three down each arm. Whoops, sorry. if dragons could grin sheepishly she would have been. Are..Are you okay? She asked in alarm as she noticed the blood oozing from Zoey's arms. "I'd be better if I could stand up" Zoey said in a muffled tone, as she couldn't get the breath to speak louder. Oh... Right... She said climbing off of the girl, taking care to not scratch her up more than she already had.
As if sensing the question from all the candidates on the odd colored babies she announced Why, I'm a Chal- Chalcedoneee- Chalcedony. Yes. Chalcedony sounds better. to everyone in the room. Zoey grinned, wrapping one arm around Winnath's neck and the other somehow still holding on to Rarity. What's that? Winnath asked, looking at the doll. " That is a pony. Her name is Rarity. She's my favorite." I wanna be your favorite! the dragon said, stomping her foot angrily. "Winnath...dearheart, you are my favorite. She is my favority pony, and YOU are my favorite Dragon." Zoey said softly, to placate her. Alright then. I'm hungry. Food! She demanded suddenly, and Zoey hopped to it, taking one of the empty buckets without a byyourleave and starting to feed the Chalcedony, trying to prevent her from eating too quickly. She stopped paying attention to the scratches, as they weren't bleeding enough to get in the way.

The intruder had Impressed. Aster sighed and walked over to Zoey instead, grabbing the first-aid kit. "Let me look at them," she said quietly. She opened the first-aid kit and pulled out the disinfecting wipes, opening one and gently taking Zoey's arm. She rubbed the disinfecting wipe over the scratches, then put a big bandage on the girl's arm. She did the same to the other arm. "They're shallow, thankfully. You should be able to pass them off as dog or cat scratches. That way people at school won't get suspicious." A sudden thought struck her, but it could wait. She decided to be helpful and use her first-aid knowledge to help the others.
"Alright. Anyone who's been hurt, come this way," she called to the Impressed.
Cairrean sighed, watching the Brown Impress to the intruder. She vaguely recognized the woman as an elementary teacher from her brother's school. She turned back to the Hatchlings, her eyes settling on the orange dragon. That one would turn into a beautiful color when the scales grew in... But that probably wouldn't happen for a while.
Acacia didn't bother watching the Brown that passed her. He wasn't Hers, and she wasn't His. That was all, and that was how things worked.

Gavin breathed a sigh of relief as Zoey ran into the egg room. Now they only needed a few more of the new club members to have all the candidates. It seemed that the dragonets wanted to give everyone kittens waiting, since some of them were still wandering around. The Anywhere at Any Time Brown was still wandering like the Not for Self, but for All mutation. He decided to call it Agate until he learned otherwise. Often Tested, Never Bested still sat in its shell, tail sweeping egg fragments around. The hatchling he'd mentally dubbed a Garnet, Semper Fidelis raced over to Zoey and unable to stop, crashed into her as it Impressed.
The By Arms and Courage egg gave way to a blue hatchling, like several of his siblings, the blue was mutated. He had the same doubled ridges as the brown, but they were connected by webbing like wingsails. Guard the Peace broke open too leaving only First Among Equals and In All Things Prepared to break shell. Gavin liked the hatching from the Guard the Peace egg, its dark grey hide and nearly black scales webbed with silver and brown streaks looked very handsome to him. Anywhere at Any Time finally found his rider, oddly enough in the woman who had invaded the Hatching. Gavin couldn't be mad at her anymore, though he still felt suspicious of her motives in joining them. The pale-reddish brown hatchling announced that it was a Chalcedony, whatever that might be.

The In All Things Prepared egg let loose its dragonet without much fuss, a brownish dragon with its hide highlighted in gold, scales shining like brass got its bearings before wandering up to the final egg, the First Among Equals egg, which had begun to shake and splinter, but was putting up a fight.
The By Arms and Courage dragonet shuffled its own way through the crowd before making a relatively uneventful Impression to Randomcandie1 who announced that his names was Junreth, and that he was indeed a blue.
The Not for Self, but for All baby had also found Theirs. Trying to worm its way through the crowd, it tried not to bump anyone with its tail only to poke someone with a wing, then tried to focus on its wings only to whack Jessie with its tail. Finally making it to its destination it sat before Gavin with a sigh, as if relieved to finally finish with that ordeal.
The Often Tested, Never Bested dragon finally stood from their cozy spot on the floor, seemingly having decided that it was time to make a decision. Or maybe the hunger was finally setting in, who knows? Nevertheless it meandered towards the last few candidates, snorting at the First Among Equals egg as it passed. As if as a retort the egg gave a crack before splitting open to reveal a yellow-colored dragon with softly shing scales that were like the palest gold rings. This one too had more pointed horns, though they only had a slight curve to them, as opposed to a twist. It glanced around the room with a soft croon before standing and testing all of its limbs, as if to be sure they were all there.
All the eggs finally hatched, Jessie breathed a sigh of relief, wincing a bit as her stomach gave a slight protest from where she'd gotten whacked with Gavin's baby's tail. She rubbed it to be sure that it wasn't sore to the touch. Aside from the feeling one gets after an intense roller coaster all seemed to be in order. She stepped back as the final male candidate, Randomcandie2 was taken off the market by the last of the bronzey dragons, announcing it as Bronze Uonatth. So far, so good. 3 Bronzes... so was that last to hatch a gold? And what was that one with the ruby red scales? And the black colored one? She shook her head. Too many mysteries with this clutch! She hoped they would all be answered soon, and that their luck would hold out.
Honor, Valor, Victory gave a love-croon as it found it's own Bonded, and attempted to make an approach like it's more dignified Bronze siblings. It started off with a pretty good job of it before tripping over it's own puppy-paw feet and toppling over to crash land at Cairrean's feet. It chirruped in embarrassment as it regained its bearings, eyes whirring rainbow.
