"I have to agree with you Darius and obviously those dragons may have not had a form of firestone...but maybe their bodies adapted some way to produce flame?" She was intrigued that the girl had such a good opinion about what she had no clue of. Maybe she was a loyal DRoPer after all! Taylor felt excitement rising in her chest that just maybe they had found their new Candidate to go along with themselves. Only issue? It bothered Taylor that they didn't know when the eggs would Hatch and it was becoming quite the chore to travel back and forth between the mansion on their lunches.
"I know we will all need to get going soon..." Taylor said, letting her voice trail off. She wanted to go bond with the eggs like they all did after school, to study them and predict what would happen. She longed to see what would hatch, what would bond with them and how it would feel.

Jessie nodded approvingly as Cairrean gave her side of the story and almost laughed when the girl suddenly seemed to become self conscious. "They're all very good points. Ones that are definitely worth putting into our argument." She listened to Darius and Taylor accordingly, agreeing with them as well. "It's definitely a good idea to look into scientific theories and to myths from around the world. If they did exist before and we tried to create them again I'm sure evolution would take its course to make whatever we made better."
She also nodded when Taylor suggested leaving soon and placed a few things in her bag, including the Dragonlovers Guide and Darius's notes. "Tell you what Cairrean, Here's my cell phone number," She scribbled it on a loose post-it,"You should have it now that you're in the club. Maybe you can join us this weekend at the Shamrock for coffee and we can come up with some more ideas. I like where you were going with that!" She placed her bag on the table, zipping it up with a smile.

Cairrean looked at her watch. "Aw man! I need to get home soon," she said with a sigh. She stood. "I forgot to tell mom that I was going to stop by here after practice. Oh, I'll give you my cell phone number, so you can text me the day of the meeting." She wrote it down a scrap of paper and handed it to Jessie. "I've got a little brother that I have to watch after school sometimes, so I may not always be able to get out. But I'll do my best." She pulled out her cell phone, a purple one with a sliding keyboard, and started to type away at it. She hit a button on the screen and slid it back into her pocket.
"I'd be glad to join you, but I'm not much for coffee," she admitted. "It's too bitter for me. I've got a major sweet tooth." She slipped her backpack over her head. "I've got some mythology books at my house, I'll bring them with me. And my Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Maybe that'll have some good points to make." She grabbed her bassoon case. "You guys are gonna come to the next band concert, right? I don't know much yet, but I'd appreciate it if you came." With that, she darted out of the room, towards home.

Darius inclined his head and watched quietly as the girls discussed among themselves. Smiling faintly for Taylor's suggestion they go-he knew what she meant as well as Jessie did-he rose and gathered his things together, pulling out a plastic page cover and putting the list of Cairrean's suggestions in it, then putting THAT into a closed binder of thick plastic he'd found at Office Depot in the mall. He then put his backpack on-it was a solid black with 'hidden' dragon designs of a very dark grey-and waited for the girls to leave first, his gentleman streak coming out.

Taylor made a motion with her hand, "Come on guys, I have my truck today. We can pile in..." She grinned and she jingled the keys back and forth in her hands to the lifted Chevrolet 2500 HD that her father had handed down. Yes, it was a 2010, black on black with camo trim and mud grappler tires. She had adored that truck, love at first sight! Her father bought himself a new Chevrolet recently, tossing the keys to his only child for her birthday.
She walked out the door, leading the way out, "Since my house is a little closer than Jessie's, we'll just leave the truck there like always..." she said in a softer tone, knowing they could walk the rest of the way to the mansion as not to draw attention to themselves with the loud pipes.

Darius chuckled and pointed to his grease smears. "I got the Panzer working," he said lightly, referring to his black Nissan truck. "So no ride needed here. I also picked up some things we can use," he added, his tone hinting that he meant for the eggs. "Panzer's good for hauling stuff after all." He chuckled and waved the girls ahead of him. "I also greased the beast, so the noise level should be at a MINIMUM now." He followed them, lightly padding on his camo flats and ignoring the looks he got from some of the guys who didn't like him. He'd made it clear that he wouldn't put up with their crap though, ESPECIALLY around his females.

Taylor laughed at Darius, "I'm glad you got that tank to working, too bad you'd never win at a hook-and-pull." She gave him a wink and a big smile, she loved to joke around with him about vehicles. It was something she enjoyed with the boys, working on cars that is. She looked at Jessie, "You coming or what? Obviously Darius wants us to go load some dirt so he can haul it." She elbowed him in the arm slightly, "Ayyyeeeee, aye?" She grinned and made her way out the nearest side door to the parking lot.

He chuckled for her comment about the not winning a hook and pull and shrugged. "Hey, you never know. My panzer's a brick! Got T-boned once and all it did was move the front bumper a couple inches." Humming, he followed them outside, then waited to see what Jessie said, whether she was coming or not. He doubted the answer would be NO, but....
He laughed and winked at Taylor in return at her comment. "Right... Dirt," he said lightly, his eyes sparkling. No, what he had in his truck was something they'd either love or hate, depending on their mindsets. They all knew what dragons ate, after all, and Darius was determined that their babies would not go hungry if he could help it. He'd been saving all his money from his job at the autoparts store and putting it into what he had in the back of his truck now.

Jessie said goodbye to Cairrean as she ran out the door before watching Taylor and Darius's playful banter with a grin. "You and your mysteries," she said to the latter as she nodded to the former, "Let's get out of here. I need some fresh air!" She slung her bag over her back and headed for the door. " Been too anxious lately, I'll be glad when it's the weekend!" She knew they'd agree, and where all of them would be glued with the shells as hard as they were. If they went by the Teaching Song the time was fast approaching, and that was if you went from the day she was given the eggs.

He grinned charmingly at her, then turned and headed for the Nissan, which had the oddest noise coming from the back. Pulling open the door, he turned the key, revving the engine a couple times to check it, and nodding in satisfaction when it made FAR less noise than it had been earlier that day. Closing the door, he put on his seatbelt and pulled out from the parking space, then turned it and headed for the Mansion, though not directly, taking a twisting, winding path around the streets. He couldn't risk leading unknowing people to the Mansion right now, or at ANYTIME in the near future...

Taylor unlocked the cab of the truck after slinging her book bag up into the back of the truck. Eight inch lift and heavy books made for a strong right arm! She flung open her door and jumped on up, cranking and letting the pipes roar. Yes, her truck brought attention from the boys and snide comments from the girls about the attention she received...but it was so worth it. She looked over at Jessie after she climbed in, "Let's ride!" She said excitingly, leaving the parking lot of the school and using her heavy footed driving to get them there fast. She parked in the driveway to her house which wasn't but a few hundred yards from the Mansion. She lived in a plantation style home, one of many in the south, that was passed down through generations in her family. White with the big columns....oh so grand.
She jumped out and ran to Jessie's side, "Come on, I'm ready to go see if there is any change in the eggs!" She was more excited than she could stand.

Jessie climbed eagerly in to Taylor's truck, dropping her bag down by her feet. She loved the exercise she got on her bike... but there was nothing quite like a good truck. She took the fast-paced ride in stride, arm out the window. She couldn't help but share the other girl's enthusiasm as they parked, grinning from ear to ear as she jumped down with practiced ease and slung her bag back over her shoulder. "I bet Darius is already there. I'm pretty sure he's the most excited of us. If we're not careful, he'll end up with a Gold!" she laughed and started off towards the mansion.

Darius was indeed there when the girls got there, but he hadn't gone inside yet. Instead, he was standing by his Nissan, watching for them, his blue eyes gleaming with mischief and excitement. When he saw them, he saluted them playfully, then moved to open the window of his camper, clearing the noise. It sounded suspiciously like clucking, and he was humming to himself as he pulled the tailgate down and tugged on one of the cages, his hands covered by thick leather gloves as he did so.
And good thing too, for the rooster inside was not happy about the cage or the ride from his farm, and was pecking at his fingers, clucking furiously. "Oh hush you," Darius retorted to the bird. "You'll have plenty of shots at me in the future. But dangit boy, I got you all the girls you could possibly want!" He was laughing as he said it, for it was true. With his savings, he had managed to purchase twenty good breeding hens, as well as two proven roosters, and he was hoping that being able to breed their own chickens would save on some of the meat they'd have to purchase for the dragonets, at least for the first year or so. They grew fast after all, and he was more than aware that the chickens might not be enough eventually to keep them sated.
Glancing at the girls, he waggled his dark brows. "So whatcha think?" he inquired.
