It's come up a few times that we don't have an exact location. The only specifics I can give are that there are defined seasons. Summer and Winter, though the Fall and Spring does not have to be as consistent.
I was thinking somewhere Mid-US when you think about it hot-dog fold, not Hamburger. Personally, I like the idea of Colorado.
Suggestions? I'll list them all here. It can be as basic as a state, or as specific as a town (no big cities, obviously)
Suggestions Colorado New Mexico Washington/Oregon Montana

Well, if you want something out-of-the-way with a lot of free-range animals, my hometown would work great. There's a lot of deer that come into town, and there are a good number of domestic herds in the surrounding ranches. Problem is that there's no mansion or any real place for the dragons to hide. But if you want seasons, the northern part of New Mexico is good.

I wouldn't mind it set in the pacific Northwest, like Washington and Oregon or something. Despite what people think, it does NOT rain here all the time and there are seasons. Plus, lots of woods with out of the ways places for dragons to stay

I was actually just reading up on naturally occurring phosphate bearing rocks that could be the closest comparison to firestone and Montana has a large amount of them. It also has seasons AND wildnerness
